Dear Friends,
Welcome! This season we are celebrating 106 years of chamber music on the coast of Maine. Often called the Cradle of Chamber Music Teaching in America, we can trace our origins to 1902 when Franz Kneisel, founder of the first professional string quartet in America, began bringing students to his vacation home on Parker Point for summer study. The Festival is a chamber music school, a concert series and chamber music advocate through many outreach programs. We are the oldest chamber music festival in America. Please join us at Kneisel Hall during June, July, and August of 2008. If you've not attended before, just click Blue Hill, Maine for directions.
