Qualified Charitable Deduction

Qualified Charitable Distribution

Are you 70½ or older and looking for a smart way to make a difference? Have you heard about the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and wondered how it could benefit you and Kneisel Hall?

What is a QCD?

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals aged 70½ or older to make direct transfers of up to $105,000 per year from their IRA to a qualified charity like Kneisel Hall. For married couples, each spouse can make QCDs up to the $105,000 limit for a potential total of $210,000. The QCD has a dual advantage: it counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) without increasing your taxable income. It’s a great example of how thoughtful financial planning can lead to meaningful philanthropy.

Why Consider a QCD to Kneisel Hall?

Kneisel Hall is dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening communities through exceptional music education and performance. By contributing to Kneisel Hall through a QCD, you’re not only supporting an institution that champions classical music and artistic excellence but also becoming a part of the enduring legacy of Franz Kneisel in the world of music education.

How Does it Work?

Consult Your Financial Advisor

Before initiating a QCD, it’s critical to discuss the QCD with your financial advisor to ensure it aligns with your overall financial plan.

Contact Your IRA Custodian

Request that your IRA custodian make a direct transfer to Kneisel Hall, Tax ID# 23-7361263. The funds must be sent directly to the charity to qualify as a QCD.
